Library folder & tags
The Library lets you keep your studies in a real folder on your computer — so they survive clearing browser data, can be backed up, and can be organized with tags you filter by.
The folder library uses the browser's File System Access API and is available in Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers. In other browsers, studies are still kept in the browser's local storage.
Link a folder
- Click Library (top right) → an HTML notice explains what happens.
- Choose a folder; the browser asks permission to access it — allow it.
- Studies you open are saved there automatically, and existing files in the folder are scanned in.
Reconnect & change folder
- On a later visit the browser requires a click to restore access — use Reconnect library.
- Once linked, the folder name is shown; click it to scan for newly added studies. The scan is progressive: the study list and its series (with thumbnails) appear while the files are still being read, the first series opens on its own and clicking another one prioritizes reading it — see Loading studies.
- Use the change-folder button (⇄) next to it to switch to a different folder.
You can also drop DICOM files into the folder from your operating system; clicking the folder (scan) picks them up.
Tags
- Hover a study in the list and click the tag icon.
- Type a free-form tag (e.g.
#thorax, #urgent) and press Enter; previously used tags are suggested. - Tags appear as colored chips and are saved with the study (in the folder and the local cache).
Filter by tags from the study-list Filters panel, together with search, modality and date. The free-text search also matches tag names. The filters panel is available in both light and dark themes.
Delete studies
In the home-page list, hover a study and click the × to delete it. The study leaves the list, this browser's cache is freed and it won't come back on its own on the next visit. If you have a library folder linked, the confirmed removal also deletes from disk only the copy the app wrote inside that folder — your original files outside the library stay untouched.
Deleting is not permanent: an explicit gesture of yours on the library — scan (click the folder name), link or reconnect — brings back everything still present on disk. Only the automatic paths (opening the app, restoring from the browser cache) keep honoring the removal.
Bulk delete
- Click the select button (checked-box icon, next to Filters) at the top of the list — the checkboxes appear.
- Tick the studies you want, or use Select all in the bar to mark everything visible (it respects the active filters).
- Click Delete and confirm — all selected studies go at once. Use Done to leave selection.
