Library folder & tags

The Library lets you keep your studies in a real folder on your computer — so they survive clearing browser data, can be backed up, and can be organized with tags you filter by.

The folder library uses the browser's File System Access API and is available in Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers. In other browsers, studies are still kept in the browser's local storage.

Link a folder

  1. Click Library (top right) → an HTML notice explains what happens.
  2. Choose a folder; the browser asks permission to access it — allow it.
  3. Studies you open are saved there automatically, and existing files in the folder are scanned in.

Reconnect & change folder

  • On a later visit the browser requires a click to restore access — use Reconnect library.
  • Once linked, the folder name is shown; click it to scan for newly added studies.
  • Use the change-folder button (⇄) next to it to switch to a different folder.

You can also drop DICOM files into the folder from your operating system; clicking the folder (scan) picks them up.

Tags

  1. Hover a study in the list and click the tag icon.
  2. Type a free-form tag (e.g. #thorax, #urgent) and press Enter; previously used tags are suggested.
  3. Tags appear as colored chips and are saved with the study (in the folder and the local cache).

Filter by tags from the study-list Filters panel, together with search, modality and date. The free-text search also matches tag names.
