Doomina accepts the formats you typically get from a CD/USB or a PACS export.
Supported inputs
Folder — a whole directory tree; subfolders are scanned recursively.
.zip — a zipped study (extracted in the browser).
DICOMDIR — the index file from CD/DVD exports.
.dcm / .dicom and extension-less DICOM files.
How to open
Drag & drop onto the viewer, use Open DICOM → Open Folder / Open .ZIP, or click the library folder button (top right) to scan the linked folder.
DICOM headers are read first and group the files into studies and series — the series list and thumbnails appear before any image finishes loading.
The first series of a newly opened study opens automatically as soon as it has images; the remaining images keep appearing while loading continues, and you can already scroll, zoom and adjust the window in the meantime.
Clicking another series while loading is still running prioritizes reading that series.
All of these inputs — folder, drag & drop, .zip and the library folder scan — go through the same progressive loading: nothing waits for the whole study to finish.
3D reconstructions (MPR, MIP, 3D, Fusion) become available as soon as the series finishes loading.
What happens to my files?
Everything is parsed and rendered locally in your browser. Files are never uploaded. Opened studies are cached in this browser (IndexedDB) so they reappear after a refresh, and — if you link a library folder — written to that real folder too. See Privacy & storage.
Troubleshooting
Nothing loads — make sure the folder actually contains DICOM files (not just JPEG/PDF reports).
Only some images show — large series stream in progressively; you can already browse the loaded images while the count finishes.
A compressed transfer syntax — most common JPEG/JPEG-LS/JPEG2000 syntaxes are supported via the built-in codecs.
